Welcome to the 2010 swimming season! Please remember, bookings are done on a pre-paid, first-come,
first-served basis, so to avoid disappointment, and get the date you want, BOOK EARLY! All of us here in
the Service Department would like to pass along these following tips to ensure your opening goes smoothly:

BEFORE WE ARRIVE, YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE:

• You leave your gate unlocked and all your accessories (i.e. ladder) are left out.
• You leave the garden hose accessible and the water turned on from the inside of your house.
• You leave the power on for the pump (if turned off at the breaker/fuse panel).
• Your pool vacuum hose and vacuum head (to start circulation and later vacuum if Pkg. B is purchased), are available and ready for use.
• Please ensure your pets are secure in the house.
  
  

IF YOU PURCHASE PACKAGE B, PLEASE NOTE:

• The vacuuming service is limited to the initial vacuuming. If your pool is very dirty, it may require more than one vacuuming. We will come back up to two times, if necessary, otherwise we will vacuum only once. Any further vacuuming is the owner's responsibility.
• A separate crew comes to vacuum your pool; the crew who opens your pool does not vacuum. Due to the volume of pools that we open, our vacuuming person will come to your house 1-5 days after the pool is opened.
• Please plan ahead. If you are planning to have a pool party on a certain weekend, book your pool to be opened at least 1-2 weeks before. Book earlier rather than later if you are unsure of when to book.
  
  

AFTER WE COMPLETE YOUR OPENING

• The vacuum hose will be in your skimmer and the garden hose left on to fill your pool. Please ensure the water level is monitored during this process, and that the water is turned off when the water level reaches ½ way up your skimmer face plate.
• Bring your water into Boldt to have it tested 24 hours after water is circulating.
• Your Nature 2 / Duoclear cartridge needs to be replaced AFTER your water is tested and balanced.
  
  
  

Salt Water Pools
Your salt chlorinator will not be turned on. After pool has filled to operating level you will add HTH shock to raise the chlorine level. DO NOT START CHLORINATOR UNTIL THE POOL WATER TEMPERATURE IS 60F OR 16C AND YOU HAVE RAISED YOUR SALT LEVEL TO BE IN THE PROPER OPERATING RANGE. You must bring a water sample in to the store to determine the amount of salt needed to top up the salt level and balance instructions.

Safety Cover Pools
After pool has filled to operating level add HTH to SHOCK pool to start the clearing of the water. Bring water sample in to store for test and balance instructions.

Vinyl lock-in covers
Remember that you must store them in a proper container and fill the container with water. Add approximately 500 ml (1/2 litre)
of concentrated algaecide. DO NOT store these covers dry.

PLEASE BE AWARE

• Heater pilot light – Due to the Technical Standards Safety Authority (T.S.S.A.) and in accordance with CSA regulations, the lighting of pool heaters is to be done by licensed gas fitters only. Boldt can arrange a separate service call to ignite, inspect and clean your heater for the upcoming season which will be charged separately.
• If your equipment is not in working order and we are not able to start circulation you will need to call the office to arrange a service call by a service technician to assess & rectify the problem at an additional charge.
